Product Review – Timbuk2 Classic Messenger Bag

I live in Chicago. Here, mostly everyone travels by foot, train, bus, or bike. And it’s almost impossible to not need some sort of bag to take with you as you fight your way through the public transportation jungle. This is that bag. Although it was built for bike messengers, nearly everyone here has one. It’s true. The next time you come to Chicago, take count of just how many Timbuk2 messenger bags you see. Is it a fashion trend? I could see that, for the sake that they come in just about any color or color combination and you can custom design it however you want it. And that is one of the reasons why I love the bag myself. But I think it’s more than that. It’s tough, very well made, decently priced, has loads of pockets (some with zippers – some without), and is made to carry any standard sized laptop computer and still give you room for your books, notes or papers. Also, the detachable reflectors (shown hanging off the bottom of the bag) make night travels much safer but can be removed and thrown inside the bag during the day. And the strap has a Velcro "comfort cushion" that really IS comfortable and you can remove or readjust in a matter of seconds. The best part of all - this is not a bag that you’re going to have to replace in a few years. It can withstand the harsh beatings that this city-jungle dishes out and still live on to fight another day. And that is why you will see this bag everywhere should you ever come to visit!
